A good 24 hours November 5, 2008

Not to sound a martyr but I’ve had no time for games this week – crap
ton of work to do – been doing 12-13 hour days.
Went to the theatre to see The Mighty Boosh last night. Brilliant.
Came home, lay in bed to watch bit of American election. Fell asleep about
midnight. Woke up. Needed a drink of water. Went to kitchen for one.
Checked clock in living room. 1:59am. Back to bed. Couldn’t sleep.
Thought I’d watch a bit more of the election and hopefully fall
asleep. Turned on TV. Obama wins (heart swells). David Dimbleby says
he’s going to make a speech at 5am UK time (Obama that is, not
Dimbleby). Think I won’t stay awake for that. Busy day. Suddenly
switch to live broadcast of speech. Hang on, think I. This is early,
surely. Watch it. Great man. Quite moving. Think I should get back to
sleep… must be, what, 3am at least now. Switch off TV hoping for
better world. Still can’t sleep. Fecking alarm on phone goes off (set
for 6am because of work load). Assume some mistake as I’ve only just
turned off TV surely less than one hour after 1:59am. Get up again.
Check clock in living room. Still says 1:59am. What? Eh? Confusion
reigns. Check phone for time. Sure enough, it’s 6am. Outcome = living
room clock is fubar. I’m tired all day.
But Obama, eh? So much to be pleased for. Democrat president. Young, feisty, get-up-and-go dude. Black dude, FFS! World feels a better place. He has a
*feck* of a lot to do. Doesn’t seem fair that some tw*t can feck it up
for eight years and then go – ‘Here you are. Now you pick up the
pieces’. Failing of capitalism (with a small ‘c’).
